Today, concert promotion giant Goldenvoice announced a new festival, Arroyo Seco Weekend, set to take place in Pasadena, California on June 24th and 25th. Arroyo Seco Weekend is described as "a world class culture event featuring three stages of live music along with curated menus from LA's celebrated restaurants and chefs plus craft beer & wine". "Coachella is successful, it's a great event but we want this to be uniquely Pasadena and the people at AEG Goldenvoice understand that", Victor Gordo, president of the Rose Bowl Operating Company and a Pasadena City Council member told KPCC a year ago. "He added: "[Arroyo Seco Weekend] is more like, 'You're a dad and you want to bring your kids to this.' It's not really for the 13-year-old kids who are begging their parents to go.
Other acts on the bill include BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE, PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND, ROY AYUERS, CHARLES BRADLEY, WILLIAM BELL, JEFF GOLDBLUM, JOHN MAYALL and the BENNIE MAUPIN ENSEMBLE on SATURDAY. Mumford & Sons will headline the festival on June 25 along with Weezer, The Shins, Fitz & the Tantrums, Andrew Bird, The Revivalists, Andy Grammer and more.
Tickets and passes for Arroyo Seco Weekend go on sale March 20th at 11 a.m. PT via the festival's website. They range from $125 for a single day general admission pass to $399 for an all weekend VIP pass.
