Liverpool on the other hand have held a keen interest in Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder Ante Coric and the news that the Plavi are keen on signing Grujic may open a window of opportunity for the Reds.
He was the first signing Jurgen Klopp made when he joined the club in October 2015, but has failed to make an impact after a string of injuries.
"I wanted to bring Andrija Zivkovic in from Benfica for €5million, but I failed", he told Blic.
Grujic joined Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016, remaining there on loan for the rest of the season.
Despite Dinamo's public admiration, Grujic's agent has finally commented on his client's situation and has quickly shutdown any thoughts of a move away from Anfield by stating that Liverpool want to keep him.
Grujic featured for Liverpool Under 23s on Monday night in a 2-0 win over Chelsea, but in order to really prepare him for a more prominent role in Klopp's side moving forward, perhaps regular first-team football at senior level elsewhere will stand him in better stead for the future.
With things yet to work out for him on Merseyside, Grujic has recently been linked with a move away and Dinamo Zagreb's advisor Zdravko Mamic has fuelled speculation about a possible loan deal by stating that the club were interested in the player.
