A UW-Madison student accused of sexually assaulting and harassing multiple women is no longer a member of the university.

It's unclear when the committee reached its decision.

Cook has pleaded not guilty to 21 counts, including strangulation, sexual assault and false imprisonment.

This undated photo provided by the Dane County Sheriff's Office in Madison, Wisconsin, shows Alec Cook, a University of Wisconsin student charged with sexually assaulting and choking a woman on October 12, 2016. "We are going to honor the educational privacy restrictions even if they chose not to with this press release". McGlone did not respond to a question asking if that was the case. In some of the cases, the women began a consensual relationship with him.

Cook's attorneys, Chris Van Wagner and Jessa Nicholson, said the decision to expel Cook is not final until the appeal period is up.

Van Wagner, who represented Cook at the hearing, alleged that the committee's decision "was a foregone conclusion before we set foot in that room". In a statement released to the station, Van Wagner said he would not discuss evidence presented at the hearing.

The expulsion of a University of Wisconsin-Madison student from the school has been upheld by a university committee. He is next due in court for a hearing March 31.

Cook has until March 24th to appeal the university's expulsion decision.
