One of our favourite shows of 2016 will back for more as Fleabag has been renewed for a second season. She told the publication that she only wanted to embark on a follow-up if she had "an idea that was good enough", but added: "I think I have one".
"I have that feeling of, 'Oh, quickly, quickly, because it's worked just fucking write some more.' But it's so special and personal to me that I don't want to fuck it up."
It followed the story of Phoebe, a troubled young woman navigating her way through London life with an unapologetically dark sense of humour throughout. "We are all trying to make it work and have the same team back".
Other characters in the acclaimed comedy included Fleabag's uptight sister Claire (Sian Clifford), her emotionally needy ex-boyfriend played by Hugh Skinner, her ambivalent dad (Bill Paterson) and her passive-aggressive step-mum (Olivia Colman).
In February, Waller-Bridge was coy about her casting as a droid in the Han Solo Star Wars spin-off, telling Metro.co.uk at the NME Awards she knew "absolutely nothing". Production for season two of Fleabag is set to begin in November, with a unspecified 2018 premiere date.
