If you're someone who has the service but don't have HBO on your list, don't worry, DirecTV will soon be adding the channel to your existing service. Just a day after the service went live, subscribers were faced with heaps of sign-in errors, content that was being blocked for no discernible reason, and a lot more. The service has been improved since then and AT&T finally appears to be in a mood to offer some sort of compensation to its subscribers.
If you were an early DirecTV Now subscriber you should check your email. The reward is only being given to individuals who signed up for DirecTV NOW before March 6, assuming those subscribers are signed up for either the "Go Big" or the "Gotta Have It" plans. HBO costs will resume after that one-year discount expires.
On the other hand, if you're subscribed to DirecTV Now's "Live a Little" or "Just Right" plans, you will start receiving a $5 credit applied to your account every month for the next 6 months.
Subscribers of DirecTV Now that are already paying for HBO should see their monthly charges adjust based on which plan they're signed up with, and you'll also be able to log into HBO Go with your login email and password for DirecTV Now. HBO normally costs an additional $5 on top of whatever your plan costs. This means that this "loyalty gift" from AT&T has a $60 value and it's valid until March 7th, 2018.
