It's a tragic day for the stoner community, as future Tokin' Hall of Famer Woody Harrelson has announced that he has formally retired from partaking in that kind herb known as marijuana.
He's been one of Hollywood's biggest advocates of recreational marijuana usage.
Despite his recent decision to leave his joints at the door, Harrelson confessed that he still considers himself to be a "party animal", just an "extremely moderate" one.
Before saying he didn't want the interview to be all about weed, Harrelson explained the euphoric effect it had on him before revealing that he felt weed was hindering him from being "emotionally available". But I am a party animal.
"I don't have a problem at all with smoking", Harrelson said.
However, the actor has revealed that he stopped smoking "that good herb" nearly a year ago because he felt "it was keeping (him) from being emotionally available". "I actually stopped smoking pot nearly a year ago". Harrelson obviously doesn't think there's anything wrong with enjoying the occasional blunt, but "when you're doing it all the time, it just becomes... For me, it's a better drug than any of the others, and since we're all drug addicts, I don't think it's a bad choice". "I feel like it was keeping me from being emotionally available", the actor continued with his Texas drawl. I think it's a great drug, in terms of... When asked what drew him to the film, Harelson made his reasons clear. "The second most important thing?"
He also reflected on his role in "Edge of Seventeen", praising co-star Hailee Steinfield for her acting chops. I like a beautifully rolled... and I just was like, I mean, I've gone this long.
