Kevin Durant explains scary hours after knee injury: 'I heard a crack'

Westbrook was reported to have fallen out with Durant over his failure to inform him of a move from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Golden State Warriors ahead of the 2016-17 season.

Durant's original diagnosis was (much) worse than what actually transpired, and he indicated that to Simmons.

Luckily that wasn't the case, and Durant should be ready to help Stephen Curry and the Warriors make a run at a second National Basketball Association championship come playoff time.

Durant added that he heard a crack when the injury happened, and that the initial feeling left him flustered and fearful.

"The first diagnosis we got was that I broke my leg, fractured my tibia".

As Durant left the arena and was riding in the auto, he began to wrap his mind around the fact that he was going to be out until July or August, and what the recovery would entail. "They didn't even say hi.' It was just making me so mad".

The Warriors do not play the Thunder again in the regular season, but there is a chance the two teams can meet in the playoffs. And we were on an East-Coast road trip, back home, playing in front of my family. "Might not be able to play the rest of the year", Durant said.

"And then, on top of that, I don't really think he got a problem".

"Man, I know all about sports". It was his doctor, saying they got the results of the CT scan.

Kevin Durant is ramping up basketball activities after suffering a bone bruise and MCL sprain to his knee.

Suddenly, he was facing a recovery of only 4-6 weeks. "That emotional roller coaster was something out of a movie", Durant said.

"That reaction in the vehicle was like second to none", said Durant, a Washington-area native who had spent more than $10,000 on tickets to that Warriors-Wizards game for 70-plus family and friends.

Durant suffered the injury on February 28 and recent reports have indicated that he might be able to re-join the Warriors before the regular season ends on April 12. He has steadily progressed from hobbling around on crutches to shooting in a chair to taking set shots to hoisting jumpers. "I'll be back when my knee gets better".

"Whenever I'm back, I'm back", Durant said. "I don't know. Whenever I'm back, I'm back".
