A second former Trump campaign official registers as a foreign agent

The company's co-founder, Joshua Crane, has been a developer of some of Trump's hotel projects.

Collateral for the Federal Savings Bank loan included a summer home in the Hamptons owned by Manafort and valued at more than $11 million.

"Manafort's acknowledgment of the foreign registration issue came Wednesday afternoon, hours after a detailed statement was issued by the Podesta Group, which, along with another firm, helped Manafort with a campaign to improve Ukraine's image in the United States between 2012 and 2014", the Washington Post reports.

"There is nothing out of the ordinary about them and I am confident anyone who isn't afflicted with scandal fever will come to the same conclusion", Manafort told The Times.

Yet the former campaign chair's finances have come under scrutiny as US agents working in the treasury department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network began combing over his offshore accounts in Cyprus early this year. Manafort is not the subject of any investigation by the Ukrainian authorities. "The work in question was widely known", Maloni said.

He is one of four people associated with the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump who remain under scrutiny of Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional investigators in the ongoing probe of the Russian operation to meddle in the USA election past year.

Prior to his time on the Trump campaign team, from 2010 to 2014, Manafort worked on behalf of European Centre for a Modern Ukraine, a group for former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Yanukovych fled to Russian Federation in 2014 amid massive protests against his rule. Yanukovych subsequently sought exile in Russian Federation. The other was $455,249 and also matched a ledger entry.

They include payments in 2007 and 2009, providing the first evidence that Manafort's firm received at least some money listed in the so-called Black Ledger.

Manafort, who worked for the party as an global political consultant, has publicly questioned the ledger's authenticity. "They also shine a light on the rich real estate portfolio that Mr. Manafort acquired during and after the years he worked in Ukraine", including luxury houses in Los Angeles, homes in Virginia and Florida, and apartments and condos in NY, notably one in Trump Tower - a $3.7 million purchase that apparently endeared him to Trump. "I invoiced my clients and they paid via wire transfer, which I received through a us bank".

Aside from questions about his already Murky financial dealings, Manafort is also dealing with probes into his potential ties to Russian Federation. The filing came after Trump fired Flynn in February, saying that Flynn had misled administration top officials about his contacts with Russian Federation.
