Minecraft to make its way to the Nintendo Switch this May

We should be getting clearer, worldwide sales figures directly from Nintendo later this month alongside the company's fiscal-year earnings release.

In a press release shared a few hours ago, Nintendo announced that NPD data confirmed that the Switch sold over 906K console units in the United States during last month.

According to Nintendo, these numbers make the Switch one of the fastest-selling video game systems of all time.

It's also worth noting that the Wii U launched in November, the most popular month for platform sales, while Switch came out during the relatively quiet early March. However, it still has a long way to go to break the record of its sibling console, the original Wii, which sold more than 100 million units.

The Nintendo Switch Dock Set can be purchased at a price of $89.99 MSRP, and includes a Nintendo Switch Dock, AC adapter, and an HDMI cable.

Sales of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on the Switch topped 925,000, actually outstripping sales for the new console. It will reportedly center on new details regarding the company's latest gaming console system, the Nintendo Switch, as well as other news regarding the Nintendo 3DS.

Meanwhile, the console's biggest launch title - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - sold over 925,000 units for Nintendo Switch, somehow outselling the console itself, and almost 460,000 units for the older Wii U console. Nintendo hopes that the numbers, not to mention the money, will continue to flow, especially as new titles land on the Switch.

The company noted that it's working on better distribution for the Switch, especially with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe right around the corner this month, and ARMS and Splatoon 2 releasing later in the summer.

For comparison, Nintendo revealed the Wii U sold 400,000 consoles during its first week on sale in 2012, while the Wii sold 600,000 units in its first eight days on sale.
