Man United beats Chelsea 2-0 to open up EPL title race

Goals from Marcus Rasford and Ander Herrera condemned the Premier League leaders to a 2-0 defeat against Mourinho's Manchester United and left them just four points ahead of Spurs with six games to play.

Goals by Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera sank Chelsea and, with six games left for the top two, there is little room for any more slip-ups by Antonio Conte's side who a few weeks ago looked like they were running away with the title.

And a subdued Chelsea - 4-0 winners in the reverse fixture - could not find a way back into the game, failing to register a shot on target, as Mourinho celebrated his first victory over his former side in three attempts since his sacking last season.

Mills said: "Probably, Tottenham will have to win five of their last six games, at least, to cause Chelsea enough problems".

It was a signature win for Mourinho near the end of his first season at United.

"We lost two games but these two games were totally different".

While Chelsea remain favourites to win the league, Conte will be concerned about the manner of the defeat at Old Trafford where they were rarely able to turn possession into chances. The league is open and we have a 50% [opportunity] to win the league.

His tactics were spot on, as they often are in big games.

Herrera was tasked with man-marking Eden Hazard throughout the match and Neville picked the Spaniard as the Man of the Match for Sky Sports after the game.

There was another individual battle going on with Chelsea striker Diego Costa and United defender Marcos Rojo engaged in an often physical struggle for dominance and Costa's frustration resulted in a yellow card for a foul on Paul Pogba.

Two minutes later, though, Herrera won the ball in midfield, possibly by using his hand, and delivered an inch-perfect pass into the path of Rashford who outpaced Luiz and fired low into the far corner of the net.

They did so again after he made it 2-0 with a shot that clipped off the heel of Kurt Zouma and span beyond an unsighted Begovic, helping United end its 12-match winless run against Chelsea dating back to 2012. But when they tried to play counterattack we were always in control.

United have now gone 22 games unbeaten in the league and move back to fifth position, four points behind Manchester City but with a game in hand against Burnley at Turf Moor next Sunday.

Chelsea is still the favorite for the title, with the only obvious stumbling block in its run-in being a trip to Everton on April 30. "Nobody can doubt our credit to win the game". Its last four games are against Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion, Watford and Sunderland.

He said: "The pressure is normal". I prefer to play for the title instead of not fighting for the title and being calm.
