Now the work on fine motor skills and decision-making algorithms are underway.

"F.E.D.O.R. demonstrated his abilities to shoot from both hands", Dmitry Rogozin wrote on his Twitter page, adding that target shooting allows the robot "to set priorities instantly and make decisions".

Posting a short clip showing the Terminator robot armed and in action, a message accompanied the clip: "Russian fighting robots - guys with iron nature".

"The robot of the F.E.D.O.R. platform showed skills of firing using both arms". According to The Sun, its creators are defending their decision to train it to be like an army robot, citing the training to be essential for it to develop decision-making skills.

Other footage available on YouTube shows FEDOR (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research) driving a auto, doing push-ups, crawling like a sniper and operating power tools.

The six-foot tall robot weighs around 233 pounds and can lift up to 44 pounds of cargo.

This robot will help astronauts for external work taht needs to be done on the International Space Station.

He stressed the machine is "not a Terminator" (a reference to the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger movie) and that the weapons testing is purely to increase its intelligence. Its uses include aviation and space.

"The unmanned launch and autonomous flight of our new spacecraft will take place in 2021, it is expected, and all relevant decisions have already been made, that robot Fedor will be the first pilot", Roscosmos craft designer Yevgeny Mikrin said. "Their capabilities are equal to those of humans, and in some ways even exceed them".
