FA Youth Cup: Chelsea, Man City draw 1-1

Arsenal have been handed a blow ahead of Sunday's FA Cup semi-final as Gabriel Jesus has returned to training for Man City, according to a report.

After a quiet opening spell, Chelsea began to take control as the first half wore on.

"We grew as the game went on and I'm really looking forward to the second leg because we can play a lot better than we have shown tonight".

Manchester City had to work hard for their Wembley appearance after a narrow 1-0 win over a determined if limited Liverpool side.

They pushed for a second but couldn't break down a strong Chelsea side that nearly nicked the win with 10 minutes to go when Hudson-Odoi again flicked the outside of the post.

City supporters fear that there will be major travel delays, as the match coincides with the London Marathon, and believe the fixture should have been scheduled for Saturday with the Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur match played on Sunday, making it easier for Londoners to get home.

Nmecha, who has scored 10 goals in the tournament so far, raced through onto the first pass but saw his shot graze the outside of the post when one-on-one with Jared Thompson in the Chelsea goal.

Brahim Diaz finally found some space towards the end of the half and threaded two nearly identical balls through to Lukas Nmecha that the City striker couldn't finish.

Callum Hudson-Odoi created the first chance with a curling effort in the eighth minute that Aro Muric tipped wide and the winger then danced through three challenges before going down under a non-existent challenge.

Noticing Ugbo nearby, he cut the ball back for the Chelsea striker who coolly drove in to hand the Blues the lead.

Foden fired in the equaliser to leave the tie finely poised ahead of next Wednesday's second leg at Stamford Bridge.
