Opening his first White House Easter Egg Roll, President Trump extolled the strength of America as thousands of children and some adults reveled in the tradition of rolling hard-boiled eggs across the manicured lawn in his backyard.
The White House's Easter Egg Roll, a big event in Washington DC every year, is an opportunity for the president to meet and greet the public.
The Easter Egg Roll was the first big event hosted by the Trump family and and the pressure to pull it off was widely seen as a test for the Trumps - especially for Melania, as the celebration is traditionally hosted by the first lady.
On the other hand, Trump also expressed his heartfelt thanks to his wife, Melania, in being the instrument for the planning and preparing towards the success of this year's Easter Egg Roll. President Donald Trump and the first lady were there to kick off the fun.
The President seemed to have forgotten to raise his hand to his heart immediately like Melania Trump and Barron Trump did.
The guest list includes military families, children from local schools, and children of staff members. A news that delights the former real estate tycoon but also the little boy who already planned to organize parties with his buddies in the official residence of the president.
'As we renew this tradition, thank you for joining us on behalf of the President and Barron, ' stated Melania, addressing the crowd from the Truman balcony.
"We're doing the egg roll hanging out and having a good time", said participant Cullen Gullott.
He was there with his wife and his two youngest children, Tiffany and Barron Trump, before returning to Mar-a-Lago for brunch and an easter egg hunt. On behalf of the president and Barron, we wish you great fun and attractive days coming ahead of us, and happy Easter.
At least we were spared the spectacle of the Easter Bunny humping Trump to remind him to put his demonic little hand over his tiny heart.
