Rudy Gobert sprains knee in Jazz win

Jazz coach Quin Snyder was vague Sunday when asked about the timetable for Gobert's return.

Paul pulled the Clippers within 90-89 on a 3 with 2:08 left in the game. But we quickly learned that the center had only a sprain in his knee, meaning a return during the playoffs was not out of question. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul led the Clippers in scoring with 26 and 25 points.

Just 17 seconds into Utah's first playoff game since 2012, things got off to an unfortunate start.

Thus, the Jazz must pounce while the chance is there.

The injury occurred when the 24-year-old appeared to knock his knee against DeAndre Jordan's during an off-ball screen involving Gordon Hayward. After the game, Miles sat at his locker in full uniform for 30 minutes before Larry Bird, the team's president of basketball operations, came in and patted him on the shoulder. The French big man, who needed to leave just 13 seconds into the game, was diagnosed with a hyperextended knee and bone contusion.

Game 1 always featured one of the three (Derrick Favors, Boris Diaw, Jeff Withey) centers on the floor at all times for the Jazz.

Ingles started the game and played 32 minutes, including a key role in the final play that opened up veteran forward Joe Johnson who cut to the basket and floated a jump shot that bounced on the rim and then fell through the net for the game victor as time expired.

This year's NBA Playoffs began Saturday, unfortunately, the Los Angeles Clippers found themselves on the losing side.

The series pegged as the most competitive matchup of the first round was dealt a serious blow after just 11 seconds. We know this is a different season, a different team, just a different year.

"Obviously, with Blake on him, it's not as easy to back down, or get to the spot he wants to get to". Everyone seems to recognize the flaws of the Clippers as each moment adds more pressure to them.

In that series, Rivers became a symbol of the Clippers resilience, even as they lost in six games after starting the series with a 2-0 advantage. It's entirely possible that we look back at this series and see it as a turning point for one, or both, of these franchises. "We made it pretty tough on him".

DeMar DeRozan led Toronto with 27 points, and Serge Ibaka had 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Another big reason for the Jazz staying close throughout the contest was how they locked down everyone outside of Griffin, Paul and Jordan. He'll likely land on an all-NBA team for the first time.
