San Diegan grooms QB who is pivotal to NFL Draft

The Browns have so many needs, however, Brown might have to set an early target on one particular player - quarterback Mitchell Trubisky when the Titans are on the clock picking fifth for example - to make a trade. He struggled with consistency on the field and was surrounded by controversy off. But according to Cleveland.com, New England was likely to ask for the 2017 and 2017 first overall picks of the Browns in exchange for the 25-year-ol d backup. Though defensive end Myles Garrett looks like he's head and shoulders above other prospects in terms of talent, there are rumors of a rift in the Browns hierarchy regarding whether they should take him or a the best quarterback on their board.

Indeed, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweeted out questions marks around the #1 pick saying, "Cleveland has not made up its mind at No. 1, per source". Pace put together a strong draft class a year ago, with Leonard Floyd, Cody Whitehair and Jordan Howard leading the way. They could even move outside the top-10 and still land an impact cornerback.

But if the Browns pass on Myles Garret, Browns fans, along with the rest of the National Football League, will be asking why. The only way the Browns can be sure their preferred QB doesn't end up a Bear is by jumping ahead of them at #2.

It is hard to argue that strong safety Antoine Bethea was not the most important player on the 49ers' secondary previous year.

Of course, any comment at this time of year should be taken with a grain of salt. They signed Quintin Demps to a three-year deal, but the former Texans safety is no impediment to drafting a safety first. They also have Brock Osweiler to add to the mix. Despite this, the Browns have reportedly shown significant interest in UNC QB Mitch Trubisky, who could step in and fill the QB void that the Browns are desperate to fill. However, there is a good possibility neither will be available by the 12th pick.

This year the Browns could use some of that draft capital to move up for a player they covet. Combined with Corey Coleman the two could really help the offensive line, especially after losing Terrell Pryor. Cleveland is now slotted to take Texas A&M star Myles Garrett with the top pick, and not too many analysts expect that to change. However, overlooked Tre'Davious White out of LSU, though slender in frame, could be a good corner as well as an addition to special teams.
