Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors scrambles as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thon Maker of the Milwaukee Bucks defend during Game 1 NBA playoff action on Saturday

"I was too hyped for one thing", Maker said.

The 7-foot-1 rookie wasn't anxious about performing under playoff pressure against the Toronto Raptors, even if just a year ago he was a little-known prospect who played prep ball in Ontario. He's a competitor, he's a fighter.

"I just knew that he wasn't going to be satisfied the way he played in the first game".

Lowry nailed the biggest shot of Game 2, putting the Raptors up by four with 8.9 seconds left and keeping the Bucks at bay.

Game 3 is 10:00am Friday morning AEDT. Greg Monroe added 14 points, Tony Snell had 11, and Khris Middleton finished with 10 points and nine assists.

Toronto coach Dwane Casey had said in no uncertain terms that Lowry needed to play better. The Raptors did a better job of getting back on defense.

While Lowry was stellar all night, he got plenty of help. "We're going to need that from him". He threw it to Serge and Serge gave it to me. "You got four arms on you, but I gotta be more aggressive". "It would have been easy to let go of the rope". They made just five of their 23 attempts from deep. Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert, center, is helped off the court by center Boris Diaw, right, and guard George Hill, left, as coach Quin Snyder watches after Gobert injured his knee during the first half in Game 1 of an National Basketball Association bas. Unfortunately, in the very last game before the break, Lowry broke his wrist and the Raptors season has not been the same ever since. "You've got to kick out, you've got to make shots against those guys, their length is their strength". Although he came alive towards the end, Giannis Antetokounmpo shot 37.5 percent from the field and was taken out of his flow by the Raptors' defensive scheme.

Off the bench, Cory Joseph had a big night with 11 points, including three three-pointers. "(Point guard Malcolm) Brogdon, him, they all come in and they play like they've played in the playoffs for years.

DeRozan grabbed the rebound on a missed jumper by Middleton, setting the stage for Lowry's decisive basket.

Milwaukee has not been to the second round since 2001, which was the story in Toronto until the Raptors beat the Pacers last season.

Toronto defeated the Bucks 3-1 in the 2016-17 regular season series and had beaten the Bucks in four consecutive games in Toronto before Saturday.

The series shifts to Milwaukee for Game 3 on Thursday and Game 4 on Saturday. Toronto led 84-83 heading to the fourth.

Ibaka, who hadn't shot particularly well early in the night, pumped up his offence in the final quarter, and ended the night with 16 points, seven boards and six assists. Antetokounmpo had eight points and 10 rebounds. In Game 2, the Raptors neutralized each of those issues, tying the Bucks in fastbreak points (12 apiece) and points in the paint (30 apiece), keeping it close in turnovers (Bucks 12 to Raptors 13), and gaining a slight advantage in points scored off of turnovers (Raptors 19 to Bucks 18). The Bulls dominated the offensive glass 20-12, leading to 23 second-chance points in their Game 1 victory. Kidd can take some confidence away from the opening game, knowing that the offense can be effective when running through Monroe, instead of seeing it being held up. You've got to start it up and sit there for a while before you pull off and you go on a little road trip. Not only do the Clippers not only have the best player on the court, they arguably have the two best players on the court in Chris Paul and Blake Griffin-especially if Rudy Gobert isn't playing. "But I've been there before, this is not the first time I've sprained an ankle. things can be changed".

Chicago again used its big men to push the Celtics out of the paint and was quicker to the ball in a lot of 50-50 situations. Not to mention, TNT Bulls are a force to be reckoned with that the Celtics can not ignore.
