Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 release postponed

CHENNAI-Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil science-fiction action drama "2.0", which was earlier scheduled to release for Diwali this year, has been postponed to January 25 next year, the makers announced on April. 21.

Raju Mahalingam of Lyca took to Twitter and posted, "Our most ambitious project, Shankar's "2.O" shifts to January 25, 2018". Starring Amy Jackson as the female lead of the movie, Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar will be seen playing a full-length role of an antagonist in this. The film is directed by S Shankar. "We are working on world class VFX, and it is taking time".

Rajinikanth fans, now you have to wait to wait for some more time to watch your favourite superstar's most awaited movie. He also revealed the new release date of 2.0 as 25 Jan 2018. The film's director Atlee says that he is planning to release the first look poster on Vijay's birthday (June 22) and a grand audio launch will be happening in August.

Rajini won't keep date with Diwali Four days after Mirror reported (April 17) that Rohit Shetty's multistarrer-comedy Golmaal Again would keep its date with Diwali this year, setting it up for a clash with Shankar's hugely-anticipated Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumarstarrer Robot sequel 2.0, we hear the latter has now been postponed. Ahead of its release, the film has made a business of Rs 110 crore through satellite rights.

Rajinikanth was supposed to start shooting for his next film with Pa, Ranjith produced by Dhanush.
