'Avengers: Infinity War' Will Do Things Never Seen Before In A Comic

This is seen most obviously in Star-Lord, who wrestles with the unexpected arrival of the father he's yearned for all his life.

How different will the Guardians be when they appear in "Avengers: Infinity War?". But one thing holds true for both movies: They're both still fun as hell.

As a result, there's been huge anticipation for Vol. 2 - and it delivers. And Bautista throws much of the credit behind his ever-growing and successful career to having starred in the first Guardians film.

The scene is a delight. It's filled with humor, action, attractive visuals, audacious choices, and killer music.

And yes, in case you were wondering there are LOTS of extra scenes hidden after the credits (this is a superhero film, after all). The Guardians' world-er, galaxy-is familiar yet feels ripe with potential wonder and weirdness.

But when you've lost the element of surprise, following that is no easy task.

Do you want to see the Avengers and the Guardians go head to head in Avengers: Infinity War, or should we all just get along? No longer so busy advertising his movie's genre transgressions, Gunn, who wrote and directed the sequel, is free to swim backstrokes through his cosmic, CGI-spiced gumbo.

Me myself and I. Kurt Russell as Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. They are now in the service of the Sovereigns, a race of perfectly bred individuals who don't wish to sully their hands when an interdimensional monster comes knocking on their door. Read the first part of our interview HERE.

As if the first movie wasn't wonderful enough, Director James Gunn is upping the ante by putting together a stellar team behind the scenes: Henry Braham (director of photography, The Legend of Tarzan, The Golden Compass), Scott Chambliss (production designer, Star Trek Beyond, Tomorrowland), Fred Raskin (editor, The Hateful Eight, Guardians of the Galaxy), and Craig Wood (editor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Tomorrowland), Judianna Makovsky (costume designer, Captain America: Civil War, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), Christopher Townsend (Oscar®-nominated visual effects supervisor, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3), Thomas Robinson Harper (stunt coordinator, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and Dan Sudick (special effects supervisor, Captain America: Civil War, Marvel's The Avengers). On the other hand, his green-skinned companion Gamora (Zoe Saldana) still has her qualms, noting the fear in the insectoid eyes of Ego's protégé Mantis (Pom Klementieff), a skittish psychic out of a Joss Whedon script.

"Absolutely. You pretty much just said it all right there". While Russell is a high-five fan-dream of a reveal when Ego first arrives, the entire father-son storyline sidelines Star-Lord from the movie nearly completely.

Casting doesn't get much more ideal than Kurt Russell playing the father of Chris Pratt. There's clearly abundant love from the writer-director for the team, and even for the new characters and returning side characters. With Quill on a journey of self-discovery, Gamora tussling with sister Nebula and Michael Rooker's Yondu going through an identity crisis after being disowned by the Ravagers - it becomes, bizarrely, an emotionally complex space drama sprinkled with zany set-pieces and penis jokes. Ego has a huge backstory-as befits a Living Planet-and goal in the movie.

Bautista considers that the depth and variety of a singular character like Drax has truly enabled him to to get better at acting.

OK, we'll stop with all the Guardians of the Galaxy puns. For a while the story splits in two, with Ravager leader Yondu, Rocket and Groot thrown together.
