'The Bachelor' Star Chris Soules Arrested After Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash in Iowa

"His thoughts and prayers and with Mr. Mosher's family".

Chris Soules proposed to Chicago fertility nurse Whitney Bischoff, right, during their stint on The Bachelor but their relationship ended shortly after the show.

Court documents obtained by the Register say Soules - who is being represented by West Des Moines-based attorney Mary K. Spellman - will be supervised following his jail release and not allowed to leave Iowa without written consent from the court. Both the tractor and truck went into the ditch and the person driving the tractor died.

Iowa State Patrol said Kenneth Mosher, 66, was behind the wheel of the tractor that was rear-ended.

Soules, 35, was officially charged on Tuesday with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Soules was not charged with driving under the influence.

The Iowa State Sate Patrol alleges that Soules fled the scene. Technical investigators were at the scene last night going through evidence.

Mosher was a resident of the Buchanan County town of fewer than 200 people for most of his life, according to the Register. The accident occurred close to Chris' home in Iowa.

The sheriff's office said the crash remains under investigation and additional charges could be filed.

Soules had his initial court appearance today in Buchanan County.

Chris Soules of The Bachelor fame has been arrested. His preliminary hearing is set for May 2.

For those unaware, Soules was arrested and charged for allegedly fleeing a fatal vehicle accident near Aurora, Iowa on Monday, April 24, the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Bustle Tuesday.

The identity of the individual driving the tractor has not been released.

Authorities said Soules was arrested for leaving the scene of a deadly crash. Chris Soules hasn't had as much good luck finding another mate but he is very open to finding one. He was released from jail on $10,000 bail, which was posted by his mother, Linda, a spokesperson for the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department confirmed to ET.
