Kyle Turris scores OT victor as Sens take 3-2 series lead

Despite the fireworks towards the end of the game and the Senators frustrations the Rangers must stay the course and play the game they have played in games 3 and 4 in order to take the lead and bring it back home for game 6 scheduled for Tuesday and a possible advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The New York Rangers have dominated the Senators there during this series.

The win gives the Senators a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series that moves to NY for Game 6 on Tuesday. Then with 6:26 left in the third period, Ottawa finally got on the score board. In addition to the OT victor, Turris also had nine hits, nine shot attempts, and won 65 per cent of his 23 draws in nearly 25 minutes.

If the Rangers are unable to come back and win the final two games of the series, they'll look back at their blown opportunities.

New York Rangers' Oscar Lindberg (24) shoots the puck past Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson (41) during the second period of Game 4 of an NHL hockey Stanley Cup second-round playoff series Thursday, May 4, 2017, in Ne. The Rangers' real strength is their depth-they have four lines capable of pushing play, and over the course of a game or a series, that constant pressure can exhaust a tired, banged-up defense like Ottawa's.

Michael Grabner appeared to win it for the Rangers fewer than 5 minutes into overtime, but it was disallowed because his redirection came on a high-stick.

Deep into the third period on Saturday afternoon, the Ottawa Senators were on the verge of a home loss to the New York Rangers and a 3-2 series deficit going back to the Big Apple.

Turris, Ottawa's top producing center during the regular season, found the back of the net at 6:28 of overtime to give the Senators a 5-4 victory and control once again of the Eastern Conference semifinal. Henrik Lundqvist remains a steady presence in net for the Rangers and he should give NY a chance to win today. Anderson didn't look good allowing Holden to beat him high on the glove side at 5:13. Pyatt tipped a Zack Smith pass by Lundqvist at 8:50 to move the Senators ahead, after Hoffman's first goal of the series at 8:17 tied it up.

Anderson Cooper's eyeroll is all of us right now
Crossing swords with Cooper Tuesday night, Conway lashed out at the cable host for mentioning Democrats. "Especially on your network, you always want to talk about Russia, Russia, Russia", Conway said.

Sens coach Guy Boucher decided to make a statement to his team, though, by inserting Mike Condon in goal for the third period.

The adjustment that accompanied the video session is responsible for Ottawa pulling two games out of the fire in this second-round series. "I was just coming from the bench with kind of some speed". Lundqvist made 27 saves. And good for them, because it's important to have some form of consolation when you've played nowhere near the level of your opponent.

Maurice Vigneault is a retired pathologist who lives in Gatineau and texts his son after every Rangers win, including Thursday's Game 4 victory.

The Sens struck for a pair in 33 seconds a short while later. Erik Karlsson had three assists. That's where Kyle Turris won it, giving the Senators a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series and putting the Rangers on the brink of elimination.

Momentum, though, started to shift back in New York's favor in the back half of the second. Nick Holden's second tally in consecutive contests made the score 2-0 and quieted the erstwhile enthused Senators fans.

Derick Brassard wound up tying the game on a bit of a fortunate bounce, after the puck deflected off of several players and rolled past Henrik Lundqvist. He tried to get Glass to fight in the second period, but was rebuffed.
