According to a minute of a meeting read to the New York Times, the U.S. president said sacking Mr Comey had relieved "great pressure" on him. Trump also called Comey a "nut job".

"The president of the United States disclosed more to Russian officials than the American public".

The recently sacked intelligence official has agreed to the hearing amid growing concern over President Trump's ties to Russian Federation and his involvement in the ongoing the investigation.

On the same day The Washington Post reported that a current senior White House adviser described as a "significant person of interest" is under scrutiny as part of the probe investigating possible co-ordination between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. The news broke as the Washington Post reported that the investigation had identified a senior current White House official as a "significant person of interest".

Trump has faced a steady flow of controversial revelations over the past 10 days, including that he asked Comey in February to end the FBI's investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. By grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia's actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russian Federation. He was insane, a real nut job.

Mid Transfer Window in IPL
This move is hailed as a major boost to the IPL and will add value to the tournament helping the franchise model evolve. The transfer of a particular player will only take place if there is a demand from another franchise for the player.

Spicer responded, "As the president has stated before, a thorough investigation will confirm that there was no collusion between the campaign and any foreign entity". I faced great pressure because of Russian Federation. He said: "By grandstanding and politicising the investigation into Russia's actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russian Federation".

The White House originally pointed to a recommendation from acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein criticizing Comey's handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server as the impetus for his firing.

"If you just parse the words that Donald Trump says, it does seem very close to a confession of obstruction of justice", Toobin said.

Robert Mueller, who served as FBI chief under George W Bush, was appointed this week as special counsel for the investigation.
