Men Stole Car, Killed 6-Year-Old in Back Seat

A sworn statement shows a MS teenager charged with multiple in the death of a six-year-old boy told investigators that the boy was shot by another of the three suspects.

"There are no words to express the anger and sadness over the loss of Kingston Frazier", wrote Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant in a statement posted to Facebook Thursday.

Officials say the teens killed the boy after stealing his mother's vehicle.

Authorities said in a news conference that they filled out a missing vehicle report before realizing that Kingston had also been taken.

A child abduction alert was played repeatedly on local newscasts and police and family members issued public appeals for help. Wakefield, along with D'Allen Washington, 17, and Byron McBride, 19, are accused of stealing the auto and shooting the little boy numerous times.

Police arrested three suspects on Thursday night - Dwan Wakefield, D'Allen Washington, and Byron McBride - all 17 years old. They face capital murder charges and are set for initial court appearances Monday morning. However, this violates a breach of protocol for Jackson, Miss., authorities who have to first inform the deceased's kin of their death before they speak to the media.

But at around 9.30am the authorities confirmed to local news site The Clarion-Ledger that Kingston was found dead with a single gunshot wound, still in his mother's stolen vehicle.

The three suspects were arrested within hours of the child's body being found, authorities said, adding video and a witness helped identify them.

As the authorities delivered the fatal news regarding their son, both parents could be heard screaming in agony at the loss in the harrowing footage.

As MSNews Now reports, the autopsy revealed that the six-year-old was shot multiple times.

Kingston's great-aunt, Velma Eddington, spoke to the Clarion-Ledger about the support the family received and said that the boy's death was the result of evil.

Disputing Mason's claims, Archie's aunt, Velma Eddington, said that her niece immediately told the deputy that Kingston was in the stolen vehicle, but he either didn't hear or didn't listen to Archie. Do you think they need to tone it down?

"Everyone that was praying for us, that we would find Kingston alive, we want to thank everybody for that, but this is, really, this is, it's hard to know that people out there are evil, that would kill a child".

Kingston was to graduate from kindergarten on the same day he was killed. All three will be tried as adults with capital murder for killing a child, according to District Attorney Michael Guest.
