Hull City star learns he's leaving the club... via Twitter

Alex Bruce has been released by Hull City, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. The club confirmed it's yearly "retained" and "released" list via their website and everybody nodded in either agreement or disagreement. But with QPR looking to push up the table and perhaps even break into the play-offs, moving to West London may be a wise choice for Bruce.

With Hull relegated at the end of the season, they have chose to release a number of fringe players in order to trim the wage bill and help the rebuild for next season.

He spent a total of five years at Hull City and was regarded as a key player throughout that time period.

The 32-year-old, who is the son of Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce, has played for Birmingham, Ipswich and Leeds among many more clubs during his career and has plenty of experience of playing football in the top two flights in England.
