Lewis Hamilton: I can't afford another weekend like Monaco

Kimi Raikkonen set the quickest lap in qualifying in Monaco, with German teammate Sebastian Vettel set to start the race in second. Mercedes had nothing in reserve to prevent the Ferrari team from securing their first Monaco win in a decade and a half.

"No different to any other point this year, last year".

Ferrari invest a chunk of money in the mathematicians responsible for crunching numbers on the pit wall.

"I was called in".

Indeed much of the paddock had been in agreement before the race that the Italian team would ensure Vettel, rather than Raikkonen, who is a distant fourth in the championship, would receive the winner's trophy from Prince Albert of Monaco here yesterday.

Reports say the strategy was planned by Ferrari to get their leading driver into the lead but the team denied that was the case. Today, as a team we wanted a one-two, which happened.

"To score six points, considering where I was on the grid after a disastrous day on Saturday is a good recovery".

"I feel pretty good".

Kevin Love explains why the Cavaliers aren't underdogs in the NBA Finals
The Los Angeles Lakers entered the finals 11-0 back in 2001, but that was when the first round was a best-of-five series. Late in the third quarter, James splashed a 3-pointer from the left wing and spun, holding a finger in the air.

It is the second race weekend this season that Hamilton has failed to finish on the podium - while Vettel has finished no lower than second in 2017 - following the Briton's uncharacteristically below-par display in Russian Federation.

The Ferrari driver's victory in the Principality and Hamilton's seventh place finish sees the three-time world champion trailing his title rival by 25-points and he is certain that Ferrari will favour Vettel for the rest of the season. The team said in our strategy meeting this morning that I could only get 10th place; so I am happy to be seventh.

But Hamilton said he would not be asking Mercedes to favour him in the same way over team-mate Valtteri Bottas. At some point I was thinking, 'there must be a Safety Car, ' and then it came at the end, when I didn't really need it, but fine. It allowed Vettel to stay out longer and pick up speed with no traffic in front of him and then, with his extra speed gained, come out of the pits ahead of Raikkonen and cruise to his 45th career victory. "Ferraris are not bullet-proof they have things coming up potentially with all the turbos they have used, so we will see".

"We tried to figure out something that is impossible to know right now, at least from my side".

The Coca-Cola 600 was red-flagged with 257 laps remaining in the 400-lap race because of lightning in the area and the cars were taken off the track. "But the end result is what it is".

The 37-year-old started the race flawlessly and looked to be taking home a nice piece of silverware, but that was before Sebastian Vettel stepped up to the plate.

Ricciardo feared all the hard work he had done to get into a podium position was gone at that moment as he thought he had significantly damaged his Red Bull.
