Cleveland Cavaliers win title in six games? Here's how

A year after losing to the Cavs in seven games, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr doesn't understand the perception around the series, either.

The Warriors have already cruised into the NBA Finals opening in Oakland with an unprecedented 12-0 playoff record even though Klay Thompson has been far from his best and 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala has struggled to make open shots.

LeBron James is in his 14th National Basketball Association season and getting ready to make his seventh straight Finals appearance when Game 1 against the Warriors kicks off on Thursday night.

Kerr, the gregarious coach, who once played as a guard for the Chicago Bulls, had time for a joke as he said, "I told the team the good news is the team is really healthy, but the bad news is the coaching staff is dropping like flies", when he told reporters that assistant Mike Brown, who took Kerr´s place on the bench, was out with illness. "I'm still feeling a lot of the effects of what I've got going on".

The Warriors and the Cavs will fight for the championship for a third straight season, but Cleveland are the reigning champions after fighting back from 3-1 down to dethrone Golden State in 2016.

He is averaging 32.5 points per game in these playoffs, eclipsed only by the 35.3 per-game average as a spry 24-year-old in 2009. Playing almost 46 minutes per contest, the three-time champion averaged 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game. You saw me in the fourth quarter of Game 2. He returns this year more closely resembling the stat-stuffing machine he was in Minnesota than at any other time since he was traded following James' decision to come back to Cleveland.

Season series: Tied, 1-1. Golden State is loaded with talent.

"You can look at Golden State and how they're playing, it's pretty dominant", Minnesota Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau said on Tuesday. "If a game is close down the stretch, he can take it over".
