Mize ties Langer for lead at Senior PGA at Trump course

That reliable blueprint elevated Langer into a class by himself Sunday following a landmark victory at the Senior PGA Championship at Trump National in Sterling. Among them was Bernhard Langer, who made two straight birdies to pull within two shots of Singh at the turn.

The German closed with a round of 68 to oust the Fijian by one stroke on 18-under par.

"It means a great deal", Langer said, according to GolfWeek. It was fun to watch some of the shots that he hit.”. Wind blowing sideways, if you have a downhill putt, it's really hard.

He's seeking his ninth senior major, which would break Jack Nicklaus' record. He tied Nicklaus last week with a five-shot victory at the Regions Tradition.

Player is now credited with six senior majors: three Senior PGA titles to go alongside U.S. Senior Open wins in 1987 and 1988 as well as the 1987 Senior Players' Championship. He then returned to the PGA Tour, where he continues to play a full schedule, and tied for 16th at The Players Championship. My lowest rounds came on Sundays this year. His putter kept him from pulling further away. His putt hugged the left edge of the cup and dropped to get Singh to 14 under following Langers downhill 15-foot try that tailed to the left, leaving a two-footer he made for par.

The 54-year-old Singh is 10 under par for the week on the par 5s at President Donald Trump's 7,100-yard course on the shores of the Potomac River. He missed only two fairways and just one green in regulation, leading to his only bogey. Langer's birdie putt went less than a foot past the hole, and immediately after making par, he raised both arms in triumph. His tee shot found the fairway again, a specialty from one of the more accurate drivers on the senior tour, and his approach settled within 12 feet of the pin.

"Bernhard played really solid, he never missed a shot and he was always on the green and he putted nicely as well, so he deserved to win", Singh continued. He shot a 4-under 68 to finish at 18-under 270. Bob Estes shot 67 and was alone in fourth, five shots behind. Singh bogeyed the 17, giving Langer a two-shot cushion heading down the last and the 59 year old secured his ninth Senior Major Championship victory with par for a total of 18 under. Now, he's not sure. “But like I said, Im going to try not to worry about him, but I will because hes going to be with me. "The reason I was able to do it was because at 50, I was within 10 percent of being as fit as I had been at 25". This is a good week for me. Singh, who opened the day with a one-shot lead, carded a 70. There wasn't much chatter in the final threesome of Singh, Langer and Scott McCarron, who shot 73 to fall six shots behind. It's all based on what us sportswriters or bureaucratic personalities within large organizations say.
