May could lose majority in June 8 election

Data collected by YouGov suggested that the Tories could lose up to 20 of the 330 seats they held in the last parliament, and Labour could gain nearly 30 seats.

The latest YouGov poll suggests 69% of 18-24 year-olds would vote Labour and 19% Conservative. In fact they particularly want the Tories to win a big majority. However, Betfair said, that is now out to 10/1, with 50-74 seats at 6/1 and 25-49 seats at 7/1.

If the Conservatives finish around three points ahead of Labour - say, 40% to Labour's 37% - that could be enough, if reflected across the country on polling day, for the Tories to lose their majority in parliament.

"While punters on the Exchange are still backing a majority, there is certainly not as much backing for that as there was just a week or so ago".

Whatever the outcome of the election, Britain's exit from the European Union is still on.

However, although polls must be approached with caution, it is clear there is concern within Conservative ranks at findings showing the party's lead over Labour has narrowed from more than 20 points at the start of the campaign to less than half of that now.

YouGov's analysis puts the Tories on 310 seats - down from the 331 they won last time with and 16 short of a majority.

Proteas avoid whitewash as Amla reaches another milestone
It was indeed yet another incredible milestone achieved the "Mighty Hash" as he is popularly known. Next over, Joe Root (two) was lbw to a swinging Parnell delivery and England were seven for two.

May's ratings have been slipping since she was forced to backtrack on one of her most striking election pledges, hours before the suicide bombing which halted campaigning for several days.

Another party member said the Tories would lose if Jeremy Corbyn wasn't Labour leader - "and we would deserve to".

According to a similar poll conducted by The Telegraph, 40 percent of the female population now intend to vote for Labour, compared to 41 per cent for the Conservatives.

Recent national opinion polling suggests that Labor has closed the gap on the Conservatives, but not as dramatically as the YouGov projection indicates.

"We doubt that the Times/YouGov research is giving us the true picture about how many seats each party will win on June 8th", Kathleen Brooks, EMEA Research Director at City Index, wrote in a note.

"Part of being a good leader is having a good, strong team around you, and I am proud and delighted to be here representing the Conservative Party and the Prime Minister making that case", Conservative Home Secretary Amber Rudd said.

Asked what Labour would do in the event of a hung parliament, Emily Thornberry said if the party found itself in a minority it would put forward a program for government and challenge smaller parties to back it.
