KD and LeBron recorded unreleased hip-hop song in 2011

As legend has it, stashed away somewhere is a six-year-old, never-before released hip-hop track by James and Durant.

Reports say the two used to work out together at James' house in Akron, Ohio back in 2011 during the National Basketball Association lockout, when one day they hit up the studio to record the unreleased rap song, as the two are already big hip-hop fans.

Kevin Durant and LeBron James have each played extremely well through two games of the NBA Finals. But one listener says that Durant provided the instrumental track and rapped the first and third verse.

That's what Miguel Luis (YouTube profile Shady00018) has done by firing up his copy of WWE 2K and simulating what would happen in LeBron James and Kevin Durant were to meet in the squared circle, rather than on the hardwood.

Haynes reports both players have confirmed the existence of the track, but it's whereabouts are unknown.

It's not as lyrical as Kendrick, as emotional as Drake or as melodic as Migos, but it would undoubtedly be in more than enough music libraries because of how big both Durant and James are. There are no current plans to release the song to the public.

According to one unidentified ESPN source who has listened to it, it was "a quality track" with "surprisingly well-crafted and delivered" lyrics. In 2012 - the same year his Thunder fell to James's Heat in the Finals - Durant appeared on a song by Stephen Jackson, aka "Stak5", and he had multiple collaborations with an Oklahoma-based rapper, Privaledge. "It was very good. I suggested submitting it to Warner Brothers for the movie soundtrack, but KD wanted to keep it private", Goodwin said of the song.

Durant and the Warriors come to Cleveland for Game 3 of the Finals on Wednesday.
