Tim Cook gives keynote at Apple WWDC 2017

New iMacs unveiled Monday at Apple's annual conference for software programmers are getting better displays and graphics capabilities.

The event started with Apple CEO welcoming the audience at the 15th WWDC in San Jose, the heart of Silicon Valley where Apple is building its new campus. Jan Dawson, chief analyst with Jackdaw Research, says the price is good for a high-end audio device.

Apple's also expected to unveil a voice-activated, internet-connected speaker to rival Amazon's Echo and Google Home. Apple wowed developers with a new platform to make augmented reality apps, as well.

Soon after the announcement Amazon tweeted, "You asked (a lot)". That means you can buy photo filters, or sign up for a monthly video streaming subscription without digging through the app itself.

- A new iMac Pro targeted at professionals was announced. Apple will prompt you to use the feature after you take your first drive with an iOS 11-powered iPhone.

The new iOS will now synchronize messages across iOS and macOS automatically.

Do you find it all too tempting to check your text messages, Facebook updates, or Snapchats while behind the wheel? Besides playing music, Apple's Siri digital assistant will also respond to requests for information and other help around the house. It appears the early beta launch of the feature will only support translating from English to Spanish/Chinese/German/Italian/French, but the company plans to introduce more language translation support in the future.
