Trump taps Colorado Supreme Court justice for federal appeals bench

"This will only magnify the impact his nominees are likely to have on the federal courts". Yet Democrats, so blinded by the light of #TheResistance, appeared oblivious to the approaching Tsunami of Trump lower court nominations.

The nominations are the latest in what are expected to be monthly waves of nominations.

Those ten nominees received mostly rave reviews, as detailed in that prior post.

Like many of Trump's recent judicial appointments, Eid was on the shortlist of possible Supreme Court nominees Trump released during the presidential campaign.

Eid has been on the state high court since 2006.

Three names on the list are slated to serve on important and influent circuit courts of appeal - including a woman Trump has tapped to assume Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch's seat on the Tenth Circuit.

University of Pennsylvania Law Professor Stephanos Bibas, 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Dabney Friedrich, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

"The White House called Mr. Bibas, director of the university's Supreme Court Clinic, "one of the nation" s leading experts in criminal law and procedure". DOJ attorneys filed an appeal with the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in May. In 2003, he was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as a federal judge. The White House is ramping up its focus on rebuilding United States infrastructure (a common Trump campaign refrain), Republican Senators may be forging ahead with some progress on desperately-needed reforms to Obamacare's failing status quo, and the president has unveiled another substantial roster of nominees to fill federal court vacancies. The state Supreme Court Justice Allison H. Eid has been nominated by the president for the position.

"Trump's nominees thus far have had troubling records that have raised real concerns about their ability to act independently of the executive branch", said Nan Aron, the president of the Alliance for Justice.

All of the nominations will go to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will consider them along with the eight Trump submitted last month.
