Warriors stun Cavaliers in 118-113 win, take 3-0 Finals lead

Durant went on a personal 7-0 run over the final two minutes of Game 3 of the NBA Finals to propel his Golden State Warriors to a 118-113 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With Kerr back on the bench for the second straight game after battling back pain, Golden State, which made a record 9 3-pointers in the first quarter and finished 16 of 33 behind the arc, also got just what it needed from its reserves as Andre Iguodala had several big plays, none bigger than stripping James of the ball on a potential tying 3-pointer with 12.6 seconds left.

"I've been working on that shot my whole life", said Durant, who has averaged 34 points through the first three games of the Finals. "You win a championship, then you lose one in heartbreaking fashion, you've pretty much seen everything at that point".

He's just going up against a better team. He's been an fantastic player in this league for a long time, and I think he's - he senses this is his time, his moment, his team.

That certainly was the case in the final minutes Wednesday. Stephen Curry is also playing great while Klay Thompson finally found his stroke in Games 1 and 2.

Golden State has relied on its all-for-one strategic ethos since Kerr took the reins in 2014; adding Durant only further expanded the wide-ranging advantages presented by that style of play. "I gave everything that I had, so at times throughout the game I was exhausted, but that's just because I was just playing as hard as I could".

"I think it was the nature with which they won that game, the force that they brought", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. The questions have turned from whether LeBron James can stop these Warriors to whether Golden State will have any competition over the next few years or if they will simply run through the rest of the league for the foreseeable future.

Curry hit a layup and after both James and Irving missed for the Cavs, Durant dropped his 3 - a shot that could be the one most remembered in this magnificent run by the Warriors.

"It's something I am accustomed to", James said. These aptly named Warriors spent the last two months building big leads, then Wednesday wiped out a late deficit.

India's Most Powerful Rocket, the GSLV MkIII, Launches Satellite into Low Orbit
Till now, Isro had to depend on the reliable PSLV rockets for launches but they could not lift heavy satellites. This will make India self-reliant in launching heavier satellites, bringing down costs substantially.

It's worth recognizing that James was once a key part of an effort to build a super team not that long ago either.

"I definitely want to compete", he said. "We just settled down and got stops in the end".

The shot, like the series, never was in doubt.

In real time, Cleveland's two losses in Oakland looked lopsided, but Irving said the tape revealed some positives.

The Golden State Warriors have beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers to take a 3-0 stranglehold on the NBA Finals. I can get my guys ready, get myself ready. That wound up being the only time he sat in the first half. He checked back in to start the second and promptly began dragging Cleveland back into the game. I know the offense gets most of the attention but our players, they work at it, collectively, individually.

Thompson and Curry sank back-to-back 3-pointers late in the second quarter to boost the Warriors lead, but Irving's inside bank shot pulled Cleveland within 67-61 at half-time. And from the opening tip, James appeared hellbent on making sure that would happen.

Being two games away from a historic 16-0 postseason record doesn't provide any feeling of relief of accomplishment for the Warriors. James has certainly carried the Cavs to this point with Irving having an underwhelming playoffs.

There's certainly no one in today's National Basketball Association that seems capable of hanging with the Warriors. Warriors forward Draymond Green was suspended for game five and Golden State lost at home, then on the road, then in an all-or-nothing game seven previous year.
