Mohamed Salah Transfer to Liverpool Nears €40m Completion

There seems to be a bit of disagreement over the details in the Mohamed Salah to Liverpool transfer.

This morning there was an update from Egypt, confirming the deal was close.

Yet, over in Italy, Gazzetta dello Sport seem to think that Roma could be willing to accept less than that, with a €35m + €5m fee said to be enough to convince them to sell the Egypt global.

Today, renowned Italian source Corriere dello Sport have claimed that the transfer process was slowed down last week but now Salah is closing in on a deal to complete his move to Liverpool and the fee will be around 40 million euros.

Liverpool will also pay a further five million euros in incentives.

Roma are under financial strain from Federation Internationale de Football Association and, bound by FFP rules, they must balance their books by the end of June, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table and secured a place in next term's Champions League.

Chelsea's Dominic Solanke already set to arrive at the end of his contract, while Hull's Andrew Robertson is an option at left-back given James Milner had been forced to play there throughout this season.

Liverpool failed with their opening bid of £28million to sign Salah from Roma.

Back in 2014, Liverpool were close to signing Mohamed when he used to play for Swiss side Basel, however, he ended up moving to Stamford Bridge instead.

The Egyptian winger posted some seriously impressive statistics last season - bagging 15 goals and 18 assists in 31 Serie A matches.
