Bill Cosby jury quits for the night, no verdict

Bill Cosby (right) arrives at the Montgomery County Courthouse June 5, 2017 in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

"Simply, you are exhausted". "You are doing an incredible job, showing fidelity to your oath".

In closing statements, they portrayed the actor as a sexual predator who deliberately drugged Constand so she would be unable to resist. Two hours into deliberations, the jury asked for content regarding a comment by Cosby in his sworn deposition made in 2005 and 2006.

In his depositions, Cosby said the pills were Benadryl, a common allergy drug whose side effects can include drowsiness, and maintained the subsequent sexual encounter was consensual.

If Cosby is found guilty, he could face up to 30 years behind bars. Judge Steven O'Neill read out passages seen to be damaging to the defence. The judge complied each time and jurors returned to their deliberations.

Members of the New York City chapter of the National Organization for Women were also present outside the courthouse carrying signs reading, "Stand With Survivors" and "Thank You Andrea".

Courtroom A, the stately space where the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial is unfolding, has been a beehive of activity over the last week - tearful testimony, fiery arguments and large screens projecting descriptions of tabloid-worthy details. "Why are we running from the truth of this case - this relationship? Why?" Later he describes a unusual configuration where he is pleading with her to go to sleep: "I sit between her torso and her thighs".

Visitors to the courthouse who had business to attend to seemed awed by the crush of media surrounding the main entrance to the courthouse.

"I felt really humiliated and I was really confused", she said through tears.

The most dramatic moment during the trial came when his accuser, Andrea Constand, entered the courtroom to tell her story and faced Cosby, whose legacy was on the line, for the first time since his arrest.

FDA to delay rule requiring new nutrition facts panel
In April, the food industry made its case to the FDA that these labels should be pushed back even further - to May 2021. Bailey, GMA's president and CEO, said in a statement .

Cosby is charged sexually assaulting Constand, 44.

Pointing to what he claimed were Constand's inconsistent statements, McMonagle and co-defense lawyer Angela C. Agrusa argued Constand initially told detectives she had limited phone contact with Cosby after the alleged incident, however, phone records showed she had called him 53 times.

Undeterred, Cosby shill Andrew Wyatt read Jackson's statement: "As a function of my position, I would travel with the team (Temple women's basketball) occasionally".

Cosby is being sued in Los Angeles by Judy Huth, who accuses the comedian of forcing her to perform a sex act on him in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974, when she was 15.

Bill Cosby has arrived at the courthouse for the second day of jury deliberations in his sexual assault trial.

Embarking on a 90-minute closing statement, defense lawyer Brian McMonagle claimed Constand had sought to hide an emotional relationship with Cosby from the police and accused her of concocting the allegations to take advantage of him.

In later police interviews, Constand said she had spent time alone with Cosby at his home before the alleged assault, including one night when he tried to unzip her trousers and kiss her.

Nonetheless, the comedian whose storytelling artistry fueled a $400 million fortune went quiet Monday when he had the chance to take the stand. Prosecutors reopened a criminal probe and filed charges in 2015 after Cosby's deposition in the woman's 2005 lawsuit was unsealed, and they realized the 12-year statute of limitations for felony sexual assault had not yet expired. The entertainer did not take the stand at his trial, but prosecutors used his deposition testimony as evidence.

Prosecutors say they made a decision to reopen the Constand investigation after reading the deposition, and during closing arguments, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele told the jurors: "All the fancy lawyering you have can't get you around your own words".
