California governor named adviser for UN climate conference

Trudeau was pressed on his alleged comments by NDP leader Tom Mulcair.

Archimedes said, "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I can move the world". First, it is a "real opportunity" for the the world to make positive changes over the next 40 years. He said unless Der Spiegel corrects the report, he chooses to believe their account over Trudeau's.

I am not a big fan of Trump, but I do appreciate him for standing firm (thus far) on this vital issue. We've already seen a lot of impassioned responses to President Trump pulling the USA out of the Paris agreement on combating climate change, but when the mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre, said, "We believe that climate change exists", and "We're not building walls, we're building bridges", the place erupted.

"The United States will continue to engage with key worldwide partners in a manner that is consistent with our domestic priorities, preserving both a strong economy and a healthy environment", the footnote read.

Exiting the deal puts the U.S.in the same category as Syria and Nicaragua, the only other countries that had not signed on. "We have to live on the planet with other countries". While this is strictly true of any global agreement, all of which involve nations coming together to achieve a goal, it is probably less true of Paris than any other.

However, Canada's environment minister, Catherine McKenna, said the meeting did the opposite.

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine McKenna stands during question period in the House of Commons on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Rather, it says that the accord is "the global instrument for effectively and urgently tackling climate change and adapting to its effects".

The reason is simple - a whole host of states, cities and municipalities have chose to take up the Paris Agreement challenge without Trump's blessing.

Trump has said he would be open to renegotiating Paris, something most European G7 nations have already rejected.

The governors of California, New York and Washington formed an alliance to push for continued adherence to the Paris accord just hours after Trump's announcement.

"At the end of the day, the administration made the decision - and I agree with it - when you looked at the cost versus the benefit that you were going to get from being in the Paris agreement, it wasn't worth it", Perry said.

As per the Paris Agreement backed by nearly 200 countries, the world would try to reduce the global warming by 2 degrees or less by 2100. There is no way that the United Nations clowns can prove that, and yet, they and many other countries want us to continue pouring trillions of USA dollars of our taxpayer money into this United Nations climate, unproven myth fund. Jerry Brown, right, looks on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in Sacramento, Calif. Bainimarama signed a non-binding global agreement that commits the signatories to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from 80 percent to 95 percent, below 1990 levels. The U.S. has become an environmental rogue state.

The statement goes further to encourage the 49 remaining parties that have not ratified the agreement to do so.
