E3 2017: 'Fallout 4 VR' and 'DOOM VFR' Trailers

The former will still feature the game's hero - Sebastian Castellanos as he tries to save his daughter from the macabre world that they are in.

Then we have the Bethesda's Creation Club, or Paid Mods 2.0. Chances are, you'll be spending a lot of time in Boston.

The other was Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, set in an alternative Nazi-occupied America after the Second World War. Protagonist Sebastian is clearly still losing his mind, there's a child singing an eerie version of a pop song and it's coming out on Friday, October 13.

Unsurprisingly, virtual reality makes its presence felt at this year's E3 though, surprisingly, not at the center or the bulk of the announcement. As such, it's not the fact that these weren't exciting developments for fans of the titles, but just that they aren't what fans expected Bethesda to spend their E3 2017 conference discussing. Fallout 4 VR starts off as a cozy housing experience in a vault and quickly unfolds to explosions, murders, and a handsome open-world adventure.

We've talked about Fallout in VR before, lamenting the fact that it didn't have a release date. Fallout 4 VR will launch in October for PC and will be compatible with the HTC Vive. Moreover, it seems that the official title will be DOOM VFR. Yes, it does take you to the action and demonic horrors up close, but only artificially. You can pre-order the game right here, and you can pick up an HTC Vive as well if you don't already own one and have the coin. With Fallout 4 specific mention was made to a full scale VR experience, but we'll see how feasible hours long play sessions are with one to one motion, usually a recipe for motion sickness.

Bethesda has had a significant interest in VR ... or, at least its lawyers have had that interest. Then, in true Bethesda fashion, you start fighting.
