E3 2017: Razer Unveils Thresher Ultimate Headset for PS4 and Xbox One

It comes with a headset and an audio hub base station, the latter of which is a benefit for PC gaming compared with Razer's other wireless solutions aimed at the PC.

This morning at E3, Razer is announcing a new product in their lineup, targeting the console market, with the Thresher Ultimate wireless headset. In each leatherette ear cup, large 50mm drivers will pump directional audio as the cups are cushioned with memory foam for state-of-the-art comfort. Volume and microphone controllers are located on the bottom of the ear cups.

From a sound quality standpoint, the Thresher Ultimate delivers Dolby 7.1 surround sound wirelessly when the docking station is hooked into your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 via optical input. The versions for each console is decked out in color highlights that are representative of the consoles, so that's blue for the PlayStation 4 and green for the Xbox One.

Here's a look at the Xbox version of the Razer Thresher Ultimate, complete with docking station. And in a nice touch, the ear cushions have indentations to make them more comfortable for users with glasses, in a first for Razer's over-ear headphones. This also carries into the headset's fully retractable microphone as well, which you'll be able to use easily with both Xbox Live and PlayStation chat on your console of choice.

Both versions are priced at $249.99/€279.99 and will be available on Razerzone.com this month and worldwide in July.

They will be offering versions for both the PS4 and the Xbox gaming systems, with a color scheme to match those consoles trademark colors.
