How much time could Bill Cosby face?

The fast-moving case went to the jury of seven men and five women on Day 6 of the trial after closing arguments painted different pictures of what happened between Cosby and Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia estate.

Deliberations began in Bill Cosby's trial on charges of aggravated indecent assault on Monday night after prosecutors and defense attorneys made their final pleas to the jury.

The criminal case focused on the disputed contact between Cosby and just one woman: Constand, a former Temple University women's basketball staffer who says Cosby took advantage of his role as her mentor, and slipped her pills that left her "frozen" and unable to stop him from touching her breasts and genitals. "We're talking about all the man's tomorrows".

Cosby's lawyers put on a case consisting of just one witness and six minutes of testimony earlier Monday before resting their case, calling the detective who led the 2005 investigation.

Bill Cosby's defence lawyer says the comedian and the primary accuser at his sex assault trial were lovers who had a consensual sexual encounter.

They began deliberations on Monday and have been sequestered at a hotel for the trial's duration, a relatively rare occurrence in the U.S. criminal justice system.

In his closing statement, McMonagle told jurors that Constand had changed her story after speaking with attorneys who specialize in sexual assault cases. Then pointing to Cosby's wife, Camille, who appeared in court for the first time Monday, McMonagle said: "And she deserved better".

The megastar turned pariah declined to testify and the defense called just one witness, a police detective, before resting their case in just minutes on the sixth day of what was initially billed as a two-week trial. He also pointed out that Constand spoke by phone with Cosby numerous times after the alleged assault.

The Bill Cosby verdict has yet to come in, but some experts believe it's likely the actor and comedian will end up being found not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman more than a decade ago.

The comedian stands accused of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for allegedly sexually assaulting Constand in his Cheltenham mansion in January 2004. "We're not here because of Andrea Constand", he said.

The defense closed by accusing Constand of lying about an affair with Cosby and concocting the allegations to take advantage of the wealthy, older star.

Cosby did not take the stand to testify during the case.

She tearfully told a court in Norristown, Pennsylvania, last week how the Hollywood icon molested her after giving her three blue pills at his home in Philadelphia. "When you dance outside your marriage, you've got to pay the band."You danced", he added, looking at Cosby, before turning his attention to Camille, seated in the front row".

Last week, when Deputy District Attorney Kevin Steele and Assistant DA Kristen Feden presented their case against Cosby, Constand stuck to her story, remaining mostly unflappable on cross-examination about questions and discrepancies raised by the defense.

Shaffer told jurors under defence questioning that Constand had visited with Cosby at an out-of-state casino and that police knew he had vision problems more than a decade ago.

Cosby's spokesman, Wyatt, said Jackson's statement would "let the world know" that Constand had perjured herself.

Prosecutors will give their closing argument Monday afternoon. The couple also has four daughters.

He noted Cosby's familiarity with the effects of Quaaludes - which he had previously said he had administered to women he wanted to have sex with, according to his 2005 civil deposition - as well as Benadryl, which he claimed he gave to Constand.

The defense had tried repeatedly since Cosby's December 30, 2015, arrest to have the case shut down.

During his closing argument, McMonagle flipped between stage-whispered intimacy and earsplitting verbal explosions - as he ran through a long list of possible culprits he says are responsible for landing his client at the center of one of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent American history.
