Katy Perry Is Spilling More Taylor Swift Tea

Swift removed all her music from Spotify in 2014 around the release of "1989". But that's not exactly the case. In some ways, even artists like Swift can't afford to ignore the two platforms - though she's had a significant effect on how the two companies do business. It's great that she has put it back so fans can listen to her entire back catalog easily. "She started it and it's time for her to finish it", Perry admitted.

Fans commented on social media, with many celebrating Spotify access to Swift's music.

All five deluxe albums (Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989) are now available to stream the service for both free and Premium Spotify users all over the world. Of course, Taylor did end up partnering with Apple Music, exclusively hosting 1989 on the service. I'm very fair; I'm super-duper fair and I'm not one of those people who's like, "You can't do that because I don't like that person". Paid streaming services are now the largest contributor of music sales in the US.

But the timing of Swift's decision has sparked a backlash, with the singer accused of being "immature" and "petty".

While her bad blood with music streaming seems to be over, this is basically a huge fuck you to Katy Perry whose new album Witness comes out - you guessed it - also on Friday.

The dancers tried to reason with Swift's management but were instead fired. But it's worth noting that Spotify recently softened its stance on windowing - in return for paying lowered fees to labels - according to a report from the Financial Times in March. The downtime means she's largely been absent from the mainstream conversation outside of precisely tailored Instagram posts, most of which are screenshots of her using. In addition to the release, tickets for the Chained To The Rhythm singer's world tour go on sale in the United Kingdom at 9am. "Important, rare things are valuable".
