Statewide, there have been seven mosquito samples that have tested positive for the virus.

With the increased numbers, "Ada County's Mosquito Abatement District is anticipating a potential epidemic level of West Nile Virus due to the abundance of larvae already in the valley", Ada County Punblic information Officer Kate McGwire.

There has been only one confirmed human case of the virus this year, and it was in Kings County.

"The positive bird means that residents of Chippewa County need to be more vigilant in their personal protective measures to prevent mosquito bites", said Angela Weideman, the county's health officer.

CHINO HILLS The West Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District has detected West Nile virus from mosquitoes for the first time this year in Chino Hills and also found the virus present in Upland for the second time this year, according to a news release.
