Microsoft to launch 4K-enabled Xbox One X in November

According to Mike Ybarra, corporate vice president of the Xbox and Windows gaming platform at Microsoft, the new console is being built with the "premium customer, the gamer that expects the absolute best versions of the games". The new console is slimmer than the Xbox One S, another Xbox One variant which the company released earlier this year.

There are now 300 backwards compatible titles and no Xbox One X exclusives have been announced yet.

The Xbox One X will be ready for global release on November 7, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

Microsoft's announcement Sunday night at the E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles helped kick off the biggest week in gaming, but it wasn't the only unveiling to generate buzz over the weekend. Xbox One X is set to play all the games compatible with Xbox One as well as all Xbox One accessories are also suitable to use with the Xbox One X. What's better is the enhanced 4K visual that the Xbox One X is offering.

Speaking to GameSpot today at E3, Microsoft's Dave McCarthy told us that Xbox One X stands alone when it comes to power and value. As previously announced, the Xbox One X will contain a 1 TB hard drive.

The Xbox One X releases on November 7, 2017, and will cost $499.

The new high-end console that represents Microsoft's answer to the PS4 Pro will hit the shelves on 7 November with a hefty price tag of £449.99, and you can sign up for pre-order updates here.

The Xbox One X is priced at $500 in the U.S., which is a full $100 more than the console it will likely get most frequently compared to, PlayStation 4 Pro.

And while Sony started to sell its PS VR headset as an accessory to the PlayStation 4 a year ago, Microsoft kept mum on VR Sunday. The consoles, which will go on sale in the fall, aim to ride the coattails of the smaller Nintendo NES Classic Edition, which sold out around the holidays previous year. Can the new, powerful console grab market share back from Playstation?
