PS4 Pro Competes With Xbox One S, Not Xbox One X

We know that Sony has the largest install base of this generation and convincing PlayStation 4 owners to switch to the Xbox One X so far into this generation's cycle will prove hard.

At $500, Microsoft's new Xbox One X console is pricey for a game machine.

Microsoft held a big debut for its refreshed Xbox One console, the Xbox One X, at E3 yesterday, but there was one piece of the puzzle missing: VR support.

Xbox's have had problems in the past of overheating which is why the new system will have liquid cooling within the console. The added kick in specifications is meant to increase the gaming experience for the users who are waiting for the next gen products. Microsoft announced during its press conference yesterday that many existing titles will receive free 4K updates for the Xbox One X. Microsoft Xbox One X is paired with 12GB of GDDR5 memory, and a memory bandwidth of 326 GB/s. That's a whole $100 more than Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro. "So, when I stood on-stage and I said this will be the best place to play all those games, there's nothing technically that would keep any developer from not making that true". The less powerful Xbox One S also supports HDR. Formerly known as Project Scorpio, the Xbox One X promises better graphics for players, whether or not they have a 4K television. Indeed, many surmised that the official name of the console would be Xbox Scorpio and some even suggested names like Xbox 10 S'. However, there were a few notable exceptions including Forza Motorsport 7, which will feature native 4K on Microsoft's Xbox One X.

It is smart but shady marketing of their new platform.

Meanwhile, rival Sony has released a beefier PlayStation 4 and unlike Microsoft Sony has said all models of the PlayStation 4 combined have sold more than 60 million units world-wide to date. Nintendo Switch costs $299 (or approx Rs. 19,246) for the base version. This compares favorably with Sony's flashship PS4 Pro console, released last November, which offers 8 GB RAM and operates at 4.12 trillion floating point operations per second.
