Happ connected on a pitch in the second inning and took New York Mets starter Zack Wheeler deep.

The Cubs later tacked on runs against the underbelly of the Mets' shaky bullpen, and the game got so out of hand that Yoenis Cespedes was removed for what the team announced was due to the "game situation" which meant the lopsided score.

To make a long story short, the Cubs put up seven runs in the second inning which ultimately led to a 14-3 drubbing on Tuesday night at Citi Field, halting the winning streak at four.

Chicago loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the second, but Wheeler was a strike away from escaping what turned into a seven-run inning unscathed.

From Rotoworld: Lester surrendered four runs on six hits over five innings in Thursday's loss to the Rockies.

Lester limited the Mets to one run in seven innings and matched his season-high with 10 strikeouts.

Wheeler (3-4) lasted only 2 2/3 innings in his worst career start, giving up a career-high eight earned runs on six hits, walking three and striking out three.

Matt Harvey starts Wednesday's series finale looking to pitch the Mets to a series win, and is coming off five scoreless innings in a no-decision last time out against Atlanta.

Rizzo became the seventh Cubs player to bat leadoff this season, getting the nod from Maddon because Ben Zobrist is nursing a left wrist injury, and Kyle Schwarber and Happ have been struggling. Happ's slam came in the next at-bat against Wheeler.

Anthony Rizzo. The Cubs slugger had himself a day, going 2-for-4 out of the leadoff spot with three RBI.

Will this last? Can the Cubs find the magic from previous year, getting the consistent hitting and starting pitching that won them a World Series?
