Senate Panel to Consider Issuing Comey Subpoena

Iohannis says he's honored to be at the White House.

A prominent Republican senator refused to rule out the potential for an investigation into whether Donald Trump obstructed justice in firing former FBI Director James Comey.

Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) issued a statement recommending that Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) use his subpoena power if necessary to "investigate all matters related to obstruction of justice". Several top-level officials have been snagged up in the investigations, including Mr Trump's son-in-law and top White House aide Jared Kushner.

"In a quest for answers, I got ahold of Columbia University professor Daniel Richman-who as of Thursday is known to many as the Comey friend who leaked to the press the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director's memo about conversations with Trump-to get his quick thoughts on his associate's ability to stuff the rock on a regulation rim", the Newsweek reporter wrote for the outlet's Friday evening story.

Comey said he didn't share the memo to reporters himself for a "variety of reasons", including because he "worried it'd be like feeding seagulls at the beach".

"One hundred percent", Trump said when asked about his willingness to deliver sworn testimony, CNN reported Trump, as saying during a Rose Garden news conference. Dick Durbin, a committee member, told The Hill.

The move would mark a dramatic escalation of their effort to dig into Russia's election interference and potential ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

Asked about the scope of his inquiry, Grassley said it would look at Comey and the Russian Federation investigation, saying the intelligence committee has a "pretty narrow" jurisdiction. I have observed him the longest.

He, however, said that whatever Trump did was "a very disturbing thing, very concerning".
