The Golden State Warriors Unanimously Decided Against Visiting Trump White House

Not only is Durant now an NBA champion, but after churning out 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists on upwards of 55 percent shooting from the field against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Durant also adds NBA Finals MVP hardware to his lofty collection.

The Warriors, who beat Cleveland in the 2015 Finals only to lose to them a year ago after squandering a 3-1 series lead, went a record-setting 16-1 in the playoffs, their only loss coming in Game Four of the best-of-seven championship.

Cleveland got off to a fast start and built a 41-33 lead on a dunk by James early in the second quarter.

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry said the experience of losing last year's Finals served them well this season.

After 10 years in the league, Durant finally has a championship.

"Like I said, when you put in the work and things pay off, then you can always be okay with whatever else that happens in your career". He scored 39 last night and became the first player since Shaquille O'Neal in 2000 to score 30 or more points in five straight Finals games.

The Cavs narrowed the gap slightly in the third but the Warriors were able to keep their opponents at arm's length to wrap up a second title in three years. Durant said, describing the final moments of the game.

But now, it appears that Danny Ainge and the C's will need to find a way to beat him and the rest of the Warriors in the NBA Finals. "They're assembled as good as you can assemble, and I played against some really, really good teams that was assembled perfectly, and they're right up there".

Durant has reached the pinnacle ten years after becoming the No. 2 draft pick behind Greg Oden. "So you don't know what's going to happen".

"That's the type of guy that I want to be with every single time I'm going to war".

"LeBron and Kyrie - I've never seen none like them two before". "To be back here and bring gold Larry (the O'Brien trophy) back home, I'm just excited to be a part of this group and accomplish something special".

On how he feels about Kevin Durant winning his first National Basketball Association title: "I'm not happy he won his first".

Defeat in game four was Golden State's only loss of the play-off campaign as they strolled to the title with a 16-1 post-season win-loss record.
