Will the NBA Champion Warriors Visit the White House?

The Warriors regained their National Basketball Association title from the Cleveland Cavaliers with a 129-120 win on Monday night to seal the hard-fought series 4-1.

"Today is all about celebrating our championship", the Warriors said in a statement released Tuesday, hours after the team dethroned the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

That pushed Golden State to add Durant as a free agent last July and the results have been devastating.

The big question this offseason is what, if anything, will contenders like Cleveland, San Antonio and Boston do to counter the champion Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 Monday night in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to capture their second championship in three years.

In 2015, about one million people turned out for the parade, but city officials have reportedly been expecting crowds to be much larger this time around.

"There's some games I might not get shots, as many shots as I'm used to getting".

"I played against some really, really good teams that were assembled perfectly, and they're right up there".

To win his first championship Durant had to go through the game's greatest player in Cavaliers forward LeBron James, who he defended for most of the five games.

Maybe unsurprisingly, Durant set new career playoff highs in efficiency during his first playoff run as a member of the Warriors, shooting 55.6 percent from the field, 44.2 percent from three and 89.3 percent from the charity stripe.

"I just wanted to lay it all out there. And I did that from day one, and I just tried to stay with that".

Durant led Golden State with 39 points, seven rebounds and five assists and was named NBA Finals MVP in a unanimous vote. "They did a great job, their front office and their players, by doing that recruiting, the things that they did in the summertime, and obviously it paid dividends". He became the third player to ever win Finals MVP in his first year with the team, joining Magic Johnson (1980) and Moses Malone (1983), while also becoming the third player ever to win four scoring titles and a ring, along with Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. "So for me personally, I've no reason to put my head down".

But if previous comments made by members of the National Basketball Association champions are anything to go by, the signs suggest they may decline any invitation were it to be offered. "I need to get off of my feet and let my joints and let my body kind of recover from being out on the floor for 14 straight years".
