It was a record-breaking weekend with $117 million being made on the opening weekend of Warner Bros and New Line’s new movie “It”. The horror movie takes the top spot and becomes the largest fall opening, largest opening weekend for a horror film, largest September opening and the largest opening for an R-rated movie. This domestic weekend box was way much better than the previous weeks when weekend gross incomes for many movies were falling drastically. The global debut gross is estimated to be $179 million. Furthermore, another Weinstein Co’s movie “Leap” is on the sixth place from number 4 in the previous week with $2.5 million from 2,691 theatres. The animation has been at the box office for three weeks and managed to generate a domestic total gross of $15.8 million. Meanwhile, Sony’s “Spider-Man Homecoming” remains in the seventh place with $2 million in its tenth week and bring the domestic total of $327 million. “Dunkirk” moved from sixth place to occupy the eighth place with $1.9 million from 2,110 theatres.

“Logan Lucky” dropped four spots in the negative to number 9 and generated a weekend gross of $1.8 million from 2,167 theatres. “The Emoji Movie” concluded the top ten with $1 million in its seventh week bringing the total gross to $82.5 million.
