So, in my typical, dorkish Sunday mode, I was listening to Warren Buffett and researching how to get better at business.

And in the middle of this long set of videos at a speech he was giving at an MBA course, he says this, "We've never hired a consultant in our lives."

I think wonkish Oak Ridge, a city always looking for the next consultant or genius peddling something, could learn something from this statement.

We need common sense, discipline and a sense of urgency.
