The Oak Ridge Observer is a locally owned free weekly newspaper,
which was launched in December 2004. You can find us at more than 80
locations in and around Oak Ridge and the surrounding area. The
Observer begins arriving on stands at noon every Thursday.
Editorials, government, social events, arts and schools are some of
our strongest coverage areas.
We are proud to be a part of the resurgence of strong
businesses and housing in our area.
As the area's weekly voice, we are committed to covering news
that affects our community. We try to keep our reporting thorough,
covering stories in depth, while providing our readers with a more
intelligent diagnosis of the issues.
As a small business, we understand that companies want to make the
most of their advertising
budgets. As such, we understand their need for personal
customer service.
We would like to be your communicator for our area, and hope you
give us the opportunity
to do that.
